The Jero shear was one of the first spring assisted shears made, and at one time this unit was manufactured for one of the leading home cookware companies, until that company decided to have the units made in China using lower quality materials. Jero continues to use the commercial quality stainless steel and heavy duty spring.  Spring can be replaced when needed. There are now numerous copies of the Jero shear, but only Jero still maintains the quality expected by home and commercial users.
