JERO PRO 4 SERIES - Next Generation Of Knives

The Pro 4, or P4 series of knives were designed in cooperation with expert butchers, and large meat processing facilities that depend on quality knives that perform at the highest level to meet their demands. The P4 Series is the next generation of knives, created using new techniques and new materials, to produce a superior knife line.  The P4 took years to design, develop, produce and test, then test again - making improvements along the way until the final production model was done.

  • First, the P4 handle has a lot of features. The handle design allows for control and comfort, while still providing a variety of different hand positions. The handle texture is created using an innovative and expensive method that creates fine grit texture that is easy to grip, and attaches well to cotton, cut resistant, nitrile and rubber gloves. Since there are no large grooves, or ridges on the handle, it is easy to clean and sanitize. It took a year just to develop this sort of texture, and though it may look simple, it was not an easy project, but at JERO they like a challenge.

  • The blade is constructed from Sandvik 12C27, high-carbon stainless steel.  Blades are hardened to 57/58 HRC and the edges are set at 18 degrees.  You get a long life edge, that is sharp and ready to work, but you get a blade that is not too hard to hone or sharpen, and has a lot lower chance of chipping.

  • The P4 series also has a larger tang, which provides additional strength, but also provides better balance between the blade and the handle. The handle is constructed of a proprietary "super polymer", that is injection molded onto the tang and a portion of the blade to provide increased strength and cutting power. JERO polymers are temperature and impact resistant, with a even greater tolerance to temperatures compared with the polymers used by competitors. This polymer also has a lower moisture absorption rate, increasing the antimicrobial properties of the blade. Polymer will absorb water, and over time could grow bacteria, or develop biofilms that hide and protect bacteria from cleaning. JERO polymers almost expel or reject moister, fats, oils and most chemicals, providing a secure and sanitary grip.

Again, this knife took years to develop and test, to be able to achieve a superior, next generation knife. JERO loves a challenge, and this knife line is proof.
